SCP Group’s promise to Nick Flynn’s Family Future as Safelinx legacy is honoured.
SCP Group (Scaffolding and Construction Products Ltd), a global leader in construction products, manufacturing, and distribution, proudly announces its fulfilment of a longstanding promise to the late Nick Flynn.
Dale, owner of SCP Group, had undertaken to ensure that Nick’s children would benefit from their father’s hard work and innovation, and now that Nick’s son Dylan has reached 18 and started it is with great pride that he can keep that promise.
Nick Flynn, the industry-renowned innovator, and inventor of the Safelinx Board Retainer system sadly passed away in mid-2017. Unfortunately, Nick had little initial success with the promotion and marketing of Safelinx, due to the industry’s reluctance to change innovative ideas often fall by the wayside. In his first 5 years, less than 2,000 pieces had been sold, and when Nick was introduced to the SCP Group, the reality of the mounting costs of the project was starting to become apparent to him and he feared he would never see his dream come to fruition.
Matt Shore, SCP Group’s Operations Director, who worked with Nick extensively recalls Nick’s visit shortly after they took over Safelinx.
“Nick’s face was a picture, we walked into the warehouse to see a wall of yellow. The first order we gave the manufacturer was for 5,000 pieces. It took us a while to shift it, but that’s what commitment’s about”.
Before Nick’s passing, Dale made a solemn promise to him that his children would see the benefit of his work.
As Dylan Flynn celebrates his 18th birthday and his sister continues her journey at age 16, SCP Group stands by its promise by initiating an ongoing financial recognition program for them. This gesture not only commemorates Nick Flynn’s legacy but underscores SCP Group’s steadfast dedication to its commitments.
“I am very proud of my dad’s work alongside SCP Group in inventing and promoting Safelinx, and I am thrilled to see it selling successfully today,” said Dylan Flynn. “I plead with everyone to support Safelinx to fulfil my dad’s dream of the success of his design. I am also really glad, and possibly a little surprised, that Dale got in touch because I know he didn’t need to. To many people, a seven-year-old promise doesn’t mean much but it shows the honour and integrity of the group.”
“I am happy to know that my family business has shown its values and supported Nick Flynn’s children,” said Rikki (Son of Dale), Financial Director of SCP Group. “It’s great to meet Dylan and I look forward to us potentially working together in the future and being successful just like our parents.”
